Season tickets are now on sale for the Theatre Group at SBCC's 2016 season of 4 plays. The season begins July 15-30, 2016 in the Garvin Theatre with the hilarious comedy, and winner of the 2013 Tony Award, VANYA AND SONIA AND MASHA AND SPIKE by Christopher Durang.

Chaos ensues when middle-aged step-siblings Vanya and Sonia receive a surprise visit from their famous sister, Masha, and her boy-toy Spike. The normally quiet farmhouse is hilariously turned upside-down as they confront deep issues of sibling rivalry, regret, lust, and love.

Following in the fall, October 14-29, 2016, in the Garvin Theatre, will be OTHER DESERT CITIES by Jon Robin Baitz.

Brooke Wyeth returns home to Palm Springs after a six-year absence to celebrate Christmas with her parents, her brother, and her aunt. Brooke announces that she is about to publish a memoir dredging up a pivotal and tragic event in the family's history-a wound they don't want reopened. As lives are examined and secrets are revealed, the question becomes whether the family will ever be able to come to terms with its shadowy past.

In March of 2017 the hilarious farce A FLEA IN HER EAR a new version of Georges Feydeau's farce by David Ives, will run March 3-18, 2017 in the Garvin Theatre

In a new adaptation by contemporary playwright David Ives, Georges Feydeau's giddy farce concerns an insurance executive named Victor Chandebise , whose wife, Raymonde, suspects him of having an affair. When she lays a trap for him at the disreputable Frisky Puss Hotel, with help from her friend Lucienne, who's married to a jealous Spaniard, bourgeois respectability explodes into a brouhaha involving a set of garters, a revolving bed, a missing medical prosthesis, two women in French-maid outfits and other screwball ingredients.

Winner of a 2006 Jefferson Award for best adaptation.

The final production will be the winner of the 2007 Pulitzer Prize, RABBIT HOLE by David Lindsay-Abaire, April 14-29, 2017 in the intimate Jurkowitz Theatre.

Becca and Howie Corbett have everything a family could want, until a life-shattering accident turns their world upside down and leaves the couple drifting perilously apart. RABBIT HOLE charts their bittersweet search for comfort in the darkest of places and for a path that will lead them back into the light of day.

In addition to the Theatre Group season, the SBCC Theatre Arts Department will present the comedy ALL IN THE TIMIMG by David Ives, November 9-19, 2016 in the Jurkowitz Theatre as an added bonus to our subscribers. Come see our talented students in an all-student production.
