Tonight, August 14th, Transcendence Theatre Company opens its newest Broadway Under the Stars concert, entitled "The Music of the Night."

The show features some of the greatest songs of the musical theatre cannon and beyond and explores the melodies and harmonies of life. "The Music of the Night" is inspired by the song of the same name from Phantom of the Opera. The complex harmonies layered over classic and contemporary music in the show are designed to inspire and transform audiences.

"There is no better place to explore the themes of this show than the breathtaking open-air atmosphere of Jack London State Historic Park..." says co-creator, Stephan Stubbins, "...music can be found in everything. Experiencing these phenomenal songs outdoors, under a blanket of stars, surrounded by nature will transcend their meaning and power to new heights."

"The Music of the Night" will include performers who have been featured on Broadway in Wicked, West Side Story, Young Frankenstein, Mary Poppins, Hairspray, and more.

The concert will be held in the winery ruins at Jack London State Historic Park tonight, August 14 and August 15, 16, 22, 23 and 24, 2014. All concerts begin with a pre-show picnic at 5:00 p.m., with food and wine for sale from local Sonoma vendors on site, with a 7:30 p.m. show time. Tickets range in price from $42 to $125 and are selling quickly.

The Transcendence Theatre Company's season runs through September 6th and continues with "Witness Uganda" on August 19 an intimate concert version of this new Broadway bound musical to be staged at Atwood Ranch, "Oh What a Beautiful Mashup..." starring Leah Sprecher and Stephan Stubbins under the stars at Paradise Ridge Winery on August 28, and the final Broadway Under The Stars "Gala Celebration" concerts to be held in Jack London State Historic Park on September 5th & 6th.
