Beginning back on May 27th and concluding on June 27th, the Something C.O.O.L. Summer Cabaret Festival features a diverse array of cabaret offerings in a 5-week series of performances. The Festival is comprised of diverse offerings by the Bay Area's hardest-working musical theatre performers and features salon evenings, adult-oriented burlesque, and time-honored cabaret performances. The Festival takes place at the Eureka Theatre at 215 Jackson St. (btwn. Battery & Front Sts.).

The Festival is brought by the artists Carly Ozard, Tom Orr and Russ Lorenson. There are six diverse showcases and four evenings of open mics featuring talented performers from professional Bay Area musical theatres and groups including 42nd Street Moon, Lamplighters, The SF Gay Men's Chorus and vocal artists from the local cabaret and performance oeuvre. More information can be found at www.somethingcoolcabaret.com. Tickets can be found at www.brownpapertickets.com.

Ozard's desire is to showcase up-and-coming cabaret singers, alongside well seasoned entertainers, and people who just want to hone their craft with performing experience. This is the place to try out that new song, invite some friends and family, and work with professional musicians. There are eight different genres and there will be six - ten vocalists each night. Ozard will present vocal evenings Mondays thru Wednesdays for the month of June. Monday and Tuesday nights begin at 7:30pm and the cover charge is $10.00. Wednesday open mics begin at 8:00 pm and are free, with tipping graciously accepted. This is an inexpensive way to spend a night out, and support local artists who need to be seen and heard and who love to perform. Ozard was a frequent host of Open-mic at the Octavia Lounge and is a cabaret performer who hails from a musical theatre background.
