McGovern, Moreno, and More Set for ALL YOU NEED IS LOVE 2 Benefit Concert at in San Francisco, 2/8

Maureen McGovern and Rita Moreno have been set for the upcoming benefit concert ALL YOU NEED IS LOVE 2 at the Marines Memorial Theatre in San Francisco. The concert takes place February 8th at 7:30pm. The concert will benefit STOP AIDS Project and Aguilas and is directed by David Galligan.

The full cast will include Susan Anton, David Burnham, Tim Hockenberry, Leslie Jordan, Nick Lazzarini, La Toya London, Maria Muldaur, Kim Nalley, Carly Ozard, Jeanie Tracy, and Tracy Wicks. Full casting will be announced at a later date. No ticket information is currently available.

Maureen McGovern has enjoyed a nearly 40 year career includes concerts, recordings and Broadway. She is a two-time Grammy nominee (Best New Artist and Best Traditional Pop Vocal) and winner for her participation in the children's album, Songs From the Neighborhood. Maureen's celebrated recording career began with the Oscar-winning records, "The Morning After" (Billboard #1 Gold) and "We May Never Love Like This Again." She was nominated for a Drama Desk Award for originating the role of "Marmee" in Little Women: The Musical and has also starred on Broadway in The Pirates of Penzance, The Threepenny Opera and Nine. She is a recent recipient of the AFTRA AMEE Lifetime Sound Recording Award, Nightlife Legend Award and the MAC Lifetime Achievement Award. Maureen's current PS Classics CD, A Long and Winding Road has been praised by The New York Times as "...a captivating musical scrapbook from the 1960s to the early 70s. Ms. McGovern's vocal technique is second to none."

Rita Moreno is the first actress, and remains the only Latina, to win an Emmy, a Grammy, a Tony, and an Oscar. Moreno moved to New York City with her mother when she was five years old; by eleven, she was lending her voice to Spanish-language versions of American films and by thirteen had landed her first role on Broadway as "Angelina" in Skydrift. Her acting caught the attention of several Hollywood talent scouts. While she performed small roles in films such as Singin' in the Rain, her career took off when she was cast as "Anita" in Robert Wise's film adaptation of Leonard Bernstein's and Stephen Sondheim's groundbreaking Broadway musical, West Side Story. It was for this performance that Moreno won the Best Supporting Actress Academy Award in 1962. She would later receive the Grammy Award for Best Recording for Children (1972), the Tony Award for Best Featured or Supporting Actress in The Ritz (1975), and two Emmys for her appearances on The Muppet Show (1977) and The Rockford Files (1978). Currently a Bay Area resident, Moreno recently starred in a new cabaret show in San Francisco in November 2008.

Since it's inception in 1995, The Richmond/Ermet AIDS Foundation has raised well over
$2 million for AIDS service agencies in the Bay Area and Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. 100% of proceeds from ticket sales have always gone directly to the beneficiary partners.

ALL YOU NEED IS LOVE, A Help Is On The Way Valentine Benefit Concert is produced by The Richmond/Ermet AIDS Foundation, founded in 1995 by Barbara Richmond & Peggy Ermet in memory of their sons, John Richmond & Doug Ermet, who both lost their lives to AIDS. In 1995 They decided not to get mad but get even when they launched a musical AIDS benefit to honor their sons and raise funds for AIDS service organizations.

The Richmond/Ermet AIDS Foundation raises funds for AIDS service provider agencies, primarily in the SF Bay Area, through the production of quality entertainment events. Currently REAF produces three primary events, "Help is on the Way," "Help is on the Way for the Holidays" and a "One Night Only" series of benefit performances with the touring casts of Broadway shows appearing in the Bay Area as tour schedules permit. This event replaces REAF's annual "Help is on the Way for the Holidays" which was cancelled due to the current economic crisis and the timing of the 2008 elections. Almost all events include special silent and/or live auctions.
