Hosted at Camp Mt. Cross (7955 State Route 9, Ben Lomond, CA) in the Santa Cruz Mountains, YATC's annual winter holiday break camp brings students together from across the nation and around the world, to "Learn from the Stars!" Students take daily classes, taught by working professionals, fulfilling YATC's mission statement that students "Discover and Develop the Artist Within!" Students are taught by visiting actors, singers and dancers who have taken time out of their busy performing schedules to come to camp to teach and give back at this multiple award winning drama camp.

Past teachers at YATC include: Darren Criss ("Glee"), Jonathan Groff (Spring Awakening), Tony Award-winner Sutton Foster ("Bunheads"), Heather Morris ("Glee"), Harry Shum Jr. ("Glee"), Lindsay Pearce ("Glee Project"), Dot Jones ("Glee"), Michael Orland ("American Idol"), Nikki Blonksy ("Hairspray"), Ben Susak ("So You Think You Can Dance"), Jason Earles ("Hannah Montana"), Laura Bell Bundy (Legally Blonde), and Kristy Cates (Wicked).

Founders and Co-Directors Shawn Ryan and John Ainsworth, both professional actors, started the Young Actors' Theatre Camp 12 years ago in Berkeley, California as a way to nurture their artistic community.

Mr. Ryan, a Bay Area native, is also a professional singer, and was a semi-finalist on the first season of "America's Got Talent. Most recently seen on NBC's "Life", CBS's "The Mentalist" and ABC's "Women's Murder Club", he currently has a comedy special running on cable channel "LOGO" that was filmed at San Francisco's Great American Music Hall.

"We wish we would have had something like this when we were kids!" Mr. Ryan recounted. "The opportunity to work with actors of this caliber at their ages; I wish I were still a kid... I want to go to Camp!"

Mr. Ainsworth added, "That's a common sentiment heard from parents too. Maybe we should do a camp for adults?" he questioned. "YATC provides the opportunity for kids to work with actors that are literally taking time off from filming to come and teach. It is truly a unique experience you really can't find anywhere else - not even in LA! I'm proud that we're able to produce it here in the Bay Area because this is where we started. And the talent here is truly amazing, some of these kids are going to be HUGE stars someday!"
