Peter Pan is flying into San Jose for a November 20 - 25th flight at San Jose Center for the Performing Arts. Come watch Tony Award nominee Cathy Rigby as she takes flight in an all new production of Peter Pan! Discover the magic all over again of this two time Emmy award winning and two time Tony award nominated production.  Peter Pan is filled with timeless magical moments and a captivating hook. The legend you thought you knew, is now the adventure you never dreamed possible…

Thinking of the happiest things!

Peter Pan is the classic tale of the boy who never wanted to grow up and the amazing adventures he and his best friend Tinker Bell had together in a magical place called Neverland.  Peter joins up with Wendy, John, and Michael in London and decides to take them on a journey that they will never forget.  An exciting story filled with Indians, fairies, magic, treasure, deadly pirates, and a vengeful crocodile!  Come and see how this tale unfolds and remember . . . think of the happiest things!

What to watch for from Linda

Peter Pan is all about the flying flips but without the stellar songs and the stars to sing them the show wouldn’t really "fly," would it?  Watch for your heart strings to be pulled on Peter and Wendy’s sweetly rendered, “Never Never Land.”  I have a place where dreams are born/And time is never planned/Just think of lovely things/And your heart will fly on wings/Forever in Never Never Land.  It’s a lovely song and if done well, it will set the tone for the whole musical.

The other number to watch for is "Ugg-a-Wugg," which opens Act II.  Look for the dancing to be top-notch and loaded with energy.  Peter Pan is a multimillion dollar production.  Watch for amazing sets and effects!

What to watch for from Nick

I am very excited to be seeing Cathy Rigby in this production.  Peter Pan has always been my favorite Disney character because of the life that he has and his insistence on never growing up.  It will be very exciting to see an older person play such an iconic, youthful role and I am intrigued to see if an older Cathy Rigby will be able to disappear into the part.

From both of us

This is definitely a show for the young and old.  Every one of us has to grow up eventually, but going to see this show is a chance to experience magic again and to enjoy the child in you.

Get Ready for the show (or continue the fun afterward) with some fun Never Never Land Activities

In its unique environment, children actively make connections among ideas, people and cultures. Finally, as a center for creative play and expression, Children's Discovery Museum of San Jose provides opportunities for all of us to discover the world through the eyes of our children.  Peter Pan is all about expressing that child within and this is the perfect place to do it!

Hiller Aviation Museum – http://www.hiller.org/index.shtml - Peter Pan and his best friend Tinker Bell can do something that probably all of us have dreamt of – the ability to jump into the air and soar amongst the stars.  The Hiller Aviation Institute is dedicated to that dream of flight – looking back into aviation’s history while exploring its future. Before you leave, you'll be transformed from visitor to explorer and who knows . . . you might catch a sight of Tinker Bell flying about looking for a new friend.

Linda Hodges is a freelance writer who has been covering the vibrant and exciting San Francisco Bay Area theater scene for the past six years. A dedicated theater aficionado, Linda first became involved in the dramatic arts while in college, becoming one of the first “techies” at her school to be voted into Delta Psi Omega, the National Theatre Honor Society. She holds a Masters in Theological Studies from Pacific School of Religion and maintains that theater, at its best, is a religious experience! Linda is currently working on her first novel and, as always, is looking forward to another opening night.

Nick Hodges has been a theatre critic with BroadwayWorld for three years now. He's performed in theater since the fifth grade and his passion for the arts has only continued to grow. Now 26, he currently studies acting at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco and has been in dozens of shows. He also did summer camps at Berkeley Rep and studied at Disney University in Orlando while also working at Disney World. Through these rich and varied experiences he has gained a deep perspective on what it truly takes to make a theatrical production successful. He is thrilled to be working with BroadwayWorld!
