The Palm Springs Cultural Center is bringing America's original Glee Club - The Young Americans - back to Palm Springs - with an all-new song and dance extravaganza designed to celebrate the Golden Anniversary of the group's founding in 1962. Two performances, featuring the latest generation of Young Americans, and some Young Americans alumni, will take place at the Palm Springs High School Auditorium on May 12th and 13th. The shows feature a wide range of music, from traditional choral music to the latest Broadway hits, and every type of dance you can imagine - from classical ballet to modern hip hop.

The Young Americans were the first performance group to blend choreography with choral music, and now serve as the oldest and largest youth music advocacy group in the world. They currently operate seven International Outreach Tours each year, operate The Young Americans College of the Performing Arts in Southern California, and bring National Music Outreach Workshops into high schools throughout the world.

With financial support from the City of Palm Springs and the Palm Springs Cultural Center, Palm Springs High School hosted a Music Outreach Workshop with The Young Americans in January of 2012. Over 200 local high school and middle school students attended the workshop.

The Young Americans' Golden Anniversary Celebration & Show will be held at the Palm Springs High School Auditorium, Saturday, May 12 (7pm) & Sunday, May 13 (2pm). Tickets: $25 each (or Family Four Pack: $80). For more information visit the Camelot Theatres Box Office online at www.camelottickets.com, or call 888-718-4253.
