By Popular Demand, The Old Globe will extend the run of the World Premiere of Dog and Pony through Sunday, July 6 at 7 p.m. This delightful new musical, with book by Rick Elice and music and lyrics by Michael Patrick Walker, began performances on May 28 and opened June 5 with an original closing date of June 29. From the award-winning talents behind Jersey Boys, Peter and the Starcatcher, and Altar Boyz, Dog and Pony is a romantic musical comedy that follows Mags and Andy, a successful screenwriting team, as their professional relationship evolves into something more. Tony Award winner Roger Rees (The Life and Adventures of Nicholas Nickleby, "Cheers") helmed the premiere in the Sheryl and Harvey White Theatre, part of the Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center. Tickets can be purchased online at www.TheOldGlobe.org, by phone at (619) 23-GLOBE, or by visiting the Box Office at 1363 Old Globe Way in Balboa Park.

Mags and Andy are a screenwriting team with a track record of hits and a professional relationship that's firing on all cylinders. But when Andy's marriage hits the rocks, forever single Mags finds she wants something more. Will romance ruin their perfect relationship? Dog and Pony is a world premiere musical comedy romance that takes a witty and irreverent look at what women want and whether men fit the bill...or don't.

The creative team includes Lisa Shriver (Choreographer), Larry Hochman (Orchestrator), Kris Stone (Scenic Design), Emily Pepper (Costume Design), Cory Pattak and Jeff Croiter (Lighting Design), Scott Lehrer (Sound Design), Adam Wachter (Music Director), Tara Rubin Casting (Casting), and Anjee Nero (Stage Manager).

Dog and Pony is a recipient of an Edgerton Foundation New American Plays Award and is supported in part through gifts from Sheila and Jeffrey Lipinsky, Paula and Brian Powers, and Torrey Pines Bank. Major funding provided by the City of San Diego Commission for Arts and Culture.
