The San Diego Gay Men's Chorus (SDGMC) Board of Directors announced today the selection of RC Haus as its new Artistic Director. Haus previously served as interim Artistic Director and Assistant Artistic Director within the organization.

"RC is an amazing ball of energy. His love of music, dance and all things creative is infectious and profound," said SDGMC President Bob Lehman. "Our audience loves him and our guys have never had so much fun singing!"

During his time as interim Artistic Director, Haus conducted the sold-out Spring 2014 shows and is leading the upcoming LUV Madonna-Music of the Material Girl concerts on July 12 and 13 at the Balboa Theatre. He most recently founded the SDGMC dance troupe and the SDGMC Chamber Chorale, both of which will premiere at the summer shows.

"I am so excited to be working with this amazing group of guys," said Haus who is also Music Director of the Rancho Santa Fe School District. "We have a great time together. And we work just as hard on our shows as we do on our mission of social justice and outreach. We sing with a purpose!"

Haus's selection was the result of a nationwide search conducted during the past seven months by SDGMC leadership. He will serve the chorus as it enters into its 30th Anniversary Celebration year of 2015.

Haus lives in Hillcrest with his fiancé Bryan Larsen.

Tickets for LUV Madonna-Music of the Material Girl are now on sale for Saturday, July 12 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, July 13 at 3 p.m. at SDGMC.org or by calling (877) 296-7664. A special Director's Prelude VIP Reception takes place an hour before each performance for an additional $35 which includes a private meet-and-greet with Artistic Director Haus, a complimentary cocktail and hors d'oeuvres. A $4 discount is available for seniors, students, groups of 10 or more and active-duty military.
