What is Hanukkah... or Chanukkah? How do you really spell it, anyway? What's it ever done for me and why should I care? Hash it out (a nice lean kosher hash) with our hosts Marc and Doug for a unique evening of fun and music and story telling. We'll share, we'll kibitz, we'll have a little something to eat! Sure, go see A CHRISTMAS CAROL, (we're going to be on their set... how ironic if that?) but do yourself a favor and spend a little time this year spinning the dreidel with Marc and Doug. Who knows, maybe we'll even learn something about all this holiday mishagas. Maybe, maybe not... you put 3 Jews in a room together you get 5 different opinions. So...what can I tell you, we'll see what happens, but even if we don't solve any baffling Jewish mysteries...we'll have a lot of fun not getting anywhere together. Oy! Did we mention that we'll have a little nosh?

"but basically, what we've got here is a vaudeville type comedy team... two guys playing a game of dreidel...learning to appreciate each other and appreciate the meaning of the holiday and why it is important...in sort of a wacky comedic kind of way. There is music and audience participation and a lot of laughs and most importantly...we'll have a nice nosh after the show. " - Marc Silver

Marc Silver (writer/director/actor) says:

I am thrilled, I tell you, thrilled, to return once again to North Coast and to be collaborating with my dear friend Mr. Ellenstein (he likes when I call him Mr.). He likes it even better when I call him Al. Our last venture together was seen here a couple of years back in Einstein Comes Through(that's me in the lobby with the atom bomb going off.) Because of my age and tenacity, I am a veteran off over fifty-five shows in L.A. and Ventura counties including a regular stint with the Kingsmen Shakespeare festival (12 years running) where I actually met David, sorry, Al, for the first time. Last year I traveled to Tennessee to play the choice role of Theo in Tennessee Reps. The Underpants and I did a little more Shakespeare there as well.

Here's something ironical... Doug and I met in a production of CHRISTMAS CAROL. I was Scrooge and he was Fred, the kind and forgiving nephew. In real life Doug is not so kind and forgiving, so, hopefully doing this show with me will make him a better Jew and a better person in general. On TV, I was a recurring character on 'Designing Women', 'Stir Crazy' and 'Throb' (that's right, Throb) and guest starred on everything from 'Hardcastle and McCormack' to 'The Famous Teddy Z'. If you don't like my performance tonight you can rent a movie called 'Motel Hell' and see me get made into sausage.
