After its recent sold-out run at the Carver Community Center, Divas of Eastwood - "a celebration of the Chitlin Circuit" - returns to the Carver on March 4th for three nights to offer up another selection of familiar songs by some of San Antonio's finest singers and performers, including Danielle King and Alisa Claridy.

As before, the Little Carver will be set out with tables at which patrons can enjoy drinks from the bar.

Darrin Newhardt does an excellent job as music director.

The show s a "musical memory of the Eastwood Country Club, Keyhole Club and Carver Community Cultural Center, the entertainers who played on the circuit and the Circuit itself. The Eastwood Country Club becomes the metaphor for all of this, presenting, as it did, such 'Divas' as Dinah Washington, Etta James, Sarah Vaughn and many more. But by extension the Revue and the Eastwood represent the music of three decades of African American music, the history and its influence on today's music."
