The Grand Theatre Hosts Auditions for THE WIZARD OF OZ Today

The Grand Theatre will hold auditions for "The Wizard of Oz" today, June 11 from 10: 00 A.M. until 2:00 P.M. at the Grand Theatre Alumni Room located at 1575 South State Street in Salt Lake City. All roles are open. Children age 8 and older are welcome to audition.

Actors should be prepared to sing 16 bars of a musical theatre piece and read from the script. Sides from the script will be posted on June 6. All actors must bring a current headshot, and resumes are highly recommended. All conflicts need to be made known at time of audition. Based upon the Academy Award winning film, this family-friendly favorite tells the story of Dorothy Gale, who with her home is transported via tornado to the munchkin village. Along with faithful companion Toto, Dorothy begins her quest to the Emerald City to meet with the wizard in hopes of finding a way back to home and along the way meets Scarecrow, a Tin Man, and a Cowardly Lion.

Performance dates: October 12-29, 2011 (no Monday, Tuesday or Sundays performances; no October 26 performance)
Times: Evening performances 7:30pm, Saturday matinees 2:00pm on October 15, 22, 29 (this will be closing performance).
