Nat'l Touring Cast of WICKED Hosts Cabaret Tonight, 8/20

Today, August 20, the National Touring Company of WICKED will host WICKED AFTER DARK, an evening of cabaret performances. Held at the Off Broadway Theatre, 272 South Main Street, Salt Lake City, Utah. The event will feature cast and crew members of the company performing a cabaret evening of music. The net proceeds of this event will benefit Utah AIDS Foundation and Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.

Produced by company members, the evening is an opportunity for them to step out of their roles in the musical in music, dance and comedy; and will feature company members including, Nicole Parker (Elphaba), Kim Zimmer (Madame Morrible), Clifton Davis (Dr. Dillamond), Demaree Hill (Nessarose) and Carla Stickler (Elphaba Standby), as well as members of the ensemble and the touring staff. In addition, there will be a silent auction of items including Wicked memorabilia, and a live auction of several opportunities to join the company backstage at the Capitol Theatre during their final week, including a chance to bid on a walk-on role in Wicked.

The musical is now playing at the Capitol Theatre through August 26. Tickets are available through ArtTix outlets, online at ArtTix.org, by phone at 801.355.ARTS (2787). Best seats are available for the Sunday performances.

Admission to WICKED AFTER DARK is by donation. Tickets are available online at www.utahaids.org or by calling 801-487-2323, and will be available at the door. General Admission is $50. A limited number of VIP tickets, which include a 6-7pm pre-show reception and priority seating hosted by members of the Wicked Acting Company are available for $125. All proceeds benefit BC/EFA and Utah AIDS Foundation and donations are tax-deductible.

While all are welcome the evening is intended for mature audiences, and parental discretion is advised.

WICKED AFTER DARK is part of an ongoing series of performances by the touring company throughout the country to support charitable causes which advance WICKED's theme of acceptance and illuminate the musical's message that people should not be judged on first impressions. In its 7 years on the road, the company has raised over $2,000,000 in donations for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS and local AIDS Services organizations all over the country.

Utah AIDS Foundation since 1985, has touched thousands of lives in Utah. Volunteers at the Utah AIDS Foundation have delivered more than 184,000 hot meals to patients who are home bound. We have distributed 1.4 million condoms to at-risk individuals. We've tested more than 16,000 people for HIV and other STIs, and our on-site food bank has distributed more than 1 million meals to families in need. Through these and many other services we continue to empower people to live healthy lives.
