Hale Center Theater Orem to Produce Disney's TARZAN

Based on Disney's epic animated musical and Edgar Rice Burrough's Tarzan of the Apes, Tarzan tells the story of an infant castaway orphan rescued and raised by gorillas. As Tarzan grows and realizes how truly different he is from his adopted ape family, he encounters human explorers, discovering for the first time that there are creatures like him. With a thunderously powerful score by rock legend Phil Collins, this is an unforgettable celebration of what it means to be a family.

HCTO's production team wanted to stay away from traditional gorilla costuming, so they contracted with Nat Reed (puppetry and stagecraft professor at BYU) to collaborate with costume designer (MaryAnn Hill) and our hair and make-up designer (Janna Larsen) to create a unique, artistic solution to the way the great apes look and move. The set design team has pushed the limits of their creativity with state-of-the-art projections, zip lines, and gymnastic equipment.

"Tarzan" will run nightly (except Sunday) from June 8 to August 6, 2017. Performances are at 7:30 PM with 3:00 PM weekly Saturday matinees that begin on June 10th. 11:00 AM Saturday matinees begin on June 17th with additional 4:00PM performances scheduled for July 28, 31 August 4 and 26.
