After running a successful kickstarter campaign to fund a remodel of its building facade, Ziegfeld Theater celebrates its Grand Re-Opening and the start of its 2015 season by presenting the family classic Fiddler on the Roof.

Fiddler on the Roof, beloved by audiences for over thirty years, tells the tale of Tevye, the dairyman, as he attempts to raise his daughters with a sense of tradition in a world of changing norms. Set in rural Russia at the turn of the century, the story shines a light on values of tradition, family and survival as Tevye, and ultimately the entire village, face obstacles to their faith and futures. Fiddler on the Roof is known for its timeless songs such as Sunrise, Sunset, If I Were a Rich Man, and Matchmaker, and will leave audiences laughing and crying as they experience life in this unique culture.

Fiddler on the Roof was the first Broadway musical to pass 3,000 performances and was later made into an Academy Award winning film that has touched the lives of millions.

The production is directed by Caleb Parry, music directed by Rick Rea, choreographed by Kacee Neff and costumed by Becky Cole.

The Grand Re-Opening event will feature a special performance by guest artist and star of our upcoming production of Les Miserables, J. Michael Bailey, and will continue after the production with a small gala including a cast meet and greet, food and drinks.

Ziegfeld Theater begins its third season in 2015 with a brand new facade, including a bold, LED-lit sign, thanks to donors from the community. Under the executive leadership of Caleb and Morgan Parry and the artistic leadership of Rick Rea, the theater pursues a mission of Professional Standard, Community Spirit as it strives to bring entertainment to diverse audiences in Northern Utah.

The Grand Re-Opening gala and performance is Friday, February 6 at 7:30 p.m. Regular performances are 7:30 p.m. every Friday and Saturday, with a 2:00 p.m. matinee on Saturday, March 7 at the Ziegfeld Theater, 3934 S. Washington Blvd., Ogden, UT 84403. Tickets: $12 to $17. Run time: approximately 150 minutes. Appropriate for all ages. Box Office: 855-ZIG-ARTS or www.theziegfeldtheater.com.
