Photo Flash: Alison Woods Stars in Disney's THE LITTLE MERMAID, Beginning Tonight in Sacramento

Take a trip under the sea with Disney's THE LITTLE MERMAID. This fun-filled, timeless tale makes its Broadway Sacramento debut in a limited engagement at Sacramento Community Center Theater from tonight, Feb. 2, through Feb. 7. Directed by CMT Artistic Director Glenn Casale, the show features Alison Woods as Ariel, along with several Music Circus Alums, including Eric Kunze as Prince Eric. The production is presented by McCoy Rigby Entertainment in association with La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts and Mt. Beacon Productions, Inc. It is directed by California Musical Theatre Artistic Director Glenn Casale, a highly respected figure in international theatre, who has directed more than 50 productions at Music Circus, including THE LITTLE MERMAID in 2012.

The cast contains several Music Circus alums, including Eric Kunze, who plays the role of Prince Eric. The cast also features Alison Woods as Ariel, Melvin Abston as Sebastian, Jennifer Allen as Ursula, Fred Inkley as King Triton, Adam Garst as Flounder, Scott Leiendecker as Flotsam, Jeffrey Christopher Todd as Jetsam, Jamie Torcellini as Scuttle and Time Winters as Grimsby.

The classic love story is Disney storytelling at its best. Unsatisfied with her life at sea, free-spirited young mermaid princess Ariel longs to experience the human world above. With Flounder and Sebastian at her side, she embarks on the adventure of a lifetime. Based on Disney's animated film and hit Broadway musical, THE LITTLE MERMAID features several classic songs including "Under The Sea," "Kiss The Girl" and "Part of Your World," as well as new songs written by Oscar-winning Disney composer Alan Menken, the mastermind behind Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin and Pocahontas. Lyrics are by Howard Ashman and Glenn Slater with a book by Doug Wright.
