NUNSET BOULEVARD Comes to Three Stages, 1/14-16

Nunset Boulevard, starring Cindy Williams, will perform in Three Stages on Monday, January 14, 2013; 7 pm, Tuesday, January 15, 2013; 7 pm, and Wednesday, January 16, 2013; 2 pm & 7 pm. Tickets are $29-$49; Premium tickets $59; 10% discount for Wednesday afternoon single tickets. Three Stages is located on the west side of Folsom Lake College campus in Folsom, CA, facing East Bidwell Street.

Cindy Williams is best known for her role as Shirley Feeney in the television series Laverne and Shirley, which recently won the TV Land award for "Fan Favorite." In April she won Best Actress at the L.A. Comedy Film Festival for the Indy film, Stealing Roses. In addition, she was honored with a star on The Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2004. Cindy reprises her role as Reverend Mother in this First National Tour of Nunset Boulevard. Her other stage credits include Mrs. Tottendale in The Drowsy Chaperone (Broadway); Deathtrap with Elliot Gould (National Tour); Moon over Buffalo; and The Odd Couple with Joanne Worley. Cindy's film credits include Travels with My Aunt directed by George Cukor, The Conversation directed by Francis Ford Coppola, and George Lucas' American Graffiti for which she received a British Academy award nomination in 1974 for Best Supporting Actress.

While reflecting on reprising her role as "Mother Superior" Williams said "She is always finding the wolf nipping at her heels. She gets everyone to toe the line, yet she has a sense of adventure and wants the best for her sisters in the covenant. She is fun-loving and fair above all else."

Nunsense, the creation of Catholic-school-educated author/composer Dan Goggin, premiered in New York City at the Cherry Lane Theater in 1985, where it won four Outer Critics' Circle Awards, including "Best Off-Broadway Musical." It then transferred to the Douglas Fairbanks Theater on 42nd Street, where it ran for over 10 years, and has been presented all over the world in over 8,000 productions (and counting), grossing more than $500,000,000. During its New York run, Nunsense became the second longest running musical in Off Broadway history, eclipsed only by The Fantasticks.

Three Stages at Folsom Lake College presents touring artists from around the world; partners with the best regional arts organizations, and supports productions by FLC students and faculty.

Three Stages at Folsom Lake College is a $50 million performing and visual arts center that opened in February 2011. Located on the campus, Three Stages includes three intimate performance venues (850, 200, 100 seats), an art gallery, a recording studio, ample rehearsal and classroom space, a full service ticket office plus all the amenities of a state-of-the-art performance venue. Parking is free on weekends and for those buying tickets in advance.

A renaming of Three Stages is currently under way. The new name, Harris Center for the Arts, honors Dr. Brice Harris, Chancellor Emeritus of the Los Rios Community College District, for his many contributions to the Capital Region, including providing the vision and leadership that lead to the opening of this regional arts center.
