Disney's On the Record, a musical revue and theatrical celebration of 75 years of Disney music, will have its tri-state regional premiere on the White Plains Performing Arts Center's main stage today, June 20 - 29. This show-stopping musical from Disney is set in a contemporary recording studio that sparkles with 64 of the most beloved songs ever written, from some of the most popular films ever made over the past 75 years.

"We are thrilled to have this opportunity as we strive to increase main stage programming for families," said White Plains Performing Arts Center Producing Artistic Director Jeremy Quinn. "We are also overjoyed to have back Stephen Ferri and Terence Osborne of The New Musical Theatre Series, the producing team behind WPPAC smash hits Edges, Songs for a New World and Party Worth Crashing."

Disney's ON THE RECORD features classic songs from a variety of live action and animated Disney films and television series, Broadway musicals and even Disneyland attractions. It's the story of a recording session that changes the lives of a young unknown who is about to get her big break, a pop diva who is about to meet her match, and a matinee idol who is about to meet the "new kid" who could take his place. Songs include Disney classics from Cinderella, Snow White, Beauty and the Beast, Sleeping Beauty, The Lion King, Mary Poppins, The Jungle Book, The Hunchback of Notre Dome, The Little Mermaid, Toy Story, Pocahontas, Tarzan, Pinocchio, Aladdin among many, many others.

Disney's On the Record was conceived as a new show meant specifically for touring on the road. Musical arranger and supervisor David Chase collaborated with director and choreographer Robert Longbottom, under the guidance of Thomas Schumacher, producer and president, Disney Theatrical Productions. Chase delved through Disney's music canon to extract songs that would showcase the personality of the characters and would be able to tell the story without spoken words. After opening in Cleveland in 2004, the production toured for nine months, visiting 24 cities in the United States.

This production is directed by Frank Portanova (Regional Premiere of Mary Poppins), with musical staging by Lexie Frare (WPPAC's Les Miserables, Bare, Spring Awakening) and musical direction by Stephen Ferri (WPPAC's Les Miserables, The Color Purple, Bare, Spring Awakening) and featuring a live orchestra on stage. This production features Lighting Design by Jamie Roderick and Set Design by Christina Fremgen & Stephen Ferri.
