Mike Risko Music is looking for local musicians and venues to participate in their third annual Make Music Day on Wednesday, June 21. Acoustic soloist and duets who have their own gear and equipment are encouraged to join this celebration of the summer solstice. All levels and ages are welcome. Musicians will be placed all around Ossining, Chappaqua and Briarcliff in varied locations.

These Northern Westchester towns are the first and only communities in Westchester to participate in the global event -- Make Music Day -- an internationally-recognized annual

celebration of music featuring a full day of free, live musical performances and workshops.

These Westchester communities will join more than 750 cities around the globe in this international celebration of song, which takes place annually on the longest day of the year, the summer solstice.

Local venues are also invited to sign up for the event, which last year attracted thousands and received widespread media attention. An additional draw will be "fun activities" to go along with the musical acts.

For more information about this event or to register yourself or your business, or for other towns and venues who would like help with their own Make Music Day event creation and program planning -- please call, 914-762-8757 or email performances@riskomusic.com.

Held annually on June 21, Make Music Day is part of the international Fête de la Musique, taking place in 750 cities across 120 countries. The daylong, musical free-for-all celebrates music in all its forms, encouraging people to band together and play in free public concerts. This year, more than 30 U.S. cities are organizing Make Music celebrations, encompassing thousands of concerts nationwide. Make Music Day is presented by the NAMM Foundation, and coordinated by the Make Music Alliance. For more information, please visit makemusicday.org.
