Clocktower Players to Launch 39th Season with DREAMGIRLS in Concert

The award-winning Clocktower Players, resident theater company of the landmark Irvington Town Hall Theater, is thrilled to present a season of community-friendly musicals filled with laughter and fun sure to inspire imagination.

To kick off the season as only Clocktower can, theater patrons are urged to purchase tickets early for the September 10th, ONE NIGHT ONLY concert of the sensational Tony Award-winning musical DREAMGIRLS. With a phenomenal cast and vibrant score that captures the Motown sound of the 60's, DREAMGIRLS charts the tumultuous journey of a female singing trio who learn that show business is as tough as it is fabulous! You won't want to miss it.

Champions of Diversity, giving voice to stories as rich and complex as the great tapestry of America itself, Clocktower Players Community Theater Adult Troupe has been honored to receive many accolades including Best of Westchester's Best Local Theater Group, winner of five 2015 OnSTAGE Critic's Awards, including Outstanding Musical Award, and selected by NY Theater Guide as one of the top five community theater companies in New York State.

Thirty-five years after the groundbreaking original Broadway production, this much-anticipated CLOCKTOWER PLAYERS concert of the sensational and iconic Tony Award®-winning musical DREAMGIRLS is coming September 10th to kick off the season as only Clocktower can!

DREAMGIRLS has a mythic reputation transporting you to a revolutionary time in American music history. With a vibrant score that captures the Motown sound of the 60's, coupled with a backstage story full of ebullience, sadness and soul, it charts the tumultuous journey of a young female singing trio from Chicago, Illinois called 'The Dreams' who learn the hard lesson that show business is as tough as it is fabulous. And I am telling you...you won't want to miss it! Featuring the classic songs: 'And I Am Telling You I'm Not Going', 'I Am Changing', 'Listen', and 'One Night Only'.

The cast features Rene O'Neal as Effie White, Eva Cox as Deena, Sekou Luke as Curtis, Guy Fortt as James Thunder Early, KC Morse as Lorrell, Donovan Thompson as C.C., Maiysha Jones as Michelle, George Croom as Marty and Jamaal Hasan-Amir as Wayne. Rounding out the ensemble are Saige Noelle Bryan, Danhy Clermont, Laura Donaldson, Laura Donaldson, Lloyd London Guerrier, Sheldon Ogbourne and Monica Richardson.
