This humor-filled and touching play tells the love story of Ethel and Norman Thayer, who are returning to their summer home in Maine for their 48th year. Despite heart palpitations and a failing memory, Norman (played by Terry Simpson of Kingston) is still as tart-tongued and observant as ever. Ethel (played by Sandy Cerel of Johnston) is his perfect foil, delighting in all the small things that enrich their life together. They are visited by their divorced daughter, with her fiancé and his son in tow. The boy quickly becomes the "grandchild" that the elderly couple has longed for.

In addition to Cerel and Simpson, the full cast also includes Ethan Clarke of Seekonk, MA, Steven Dulude of Pawtucket, Cherylee Dumas and Christopher Verleger of Narragansett with stage management by Eileen Goretaya of West Warwick.
