Photo Flash: Epic Theatre Company Presents BOGIE AND BACALL: GOODBYE AND HURRY BACK

Epic Theatre Company proudly presents the World Premiere of "Bogie and Bacall: Goodbye and Hurry Back" by Lenny Schwartz. It's the behind-the-scenes story of one of Hollywood's most famous couples: Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall. The play is part of Epic's New Work Series which deals with Hollywood and fame.

"When we decided to use our new works program to look at Hollywood, I knew I had to reach out to Lenny and get him involved," says Epic Artistic Director Kevin Broccoli, "He's the local master of this genre. We're so happy to have him taking a look at a story a lot of people have heard about, but not many know in detail. Bogie and Bacall are the definition of a Hollywood love story. They're the original power couple."

Jennifer Rich is directing the show which features Epic favorites Justin Pimentel and Christine Pavao as Bogie and Bacall. They're joined onstage by Hannah Lum, Mike Gambit Daniels, Mary Paolino, Micaiah Castro, and Vanessa Blanchette.

"The trick to putting on this show was casting. How do you find people who resemble this iconic characters? Hollywood titans. The answer is-You don't. You don't even try. What you look for is the essence of who that person was, and you capture it that way. That's why we have the extraordinary cast that we do, who I think are going to show you this story in a way you wouldn't otherwise see it."

This is the first time Epic will be producing a show at the Arctic Playhouse in West Warwick, the home of multiple plays by Schwartz.

"The folks at Arctic have been so welcoming to us," says Broccoli, "We love being able to get out and play at other theaters and different venues. It helps us reach a wider audience and helps keep our own work fresh and exciting."
