Epic Theatre Company will present the World Premiere of "Total Strangers." Inspired by Patricia Highsmith's masterpiece "Strangers on a Train," Kevin Broccoli has flipped the story of two random people who meet and get tangled up in a murder plot by switching genders and creating even more twists and turns than in the original novel and famous film.

Georgia Sharpe is a successful writer and professor who happens to be going through a personal crisis when she meets Beth Garrison on a train to New York. What starts as an innocent conversation leads to a conspiracy to commit a heinous crime. Soon, Georgia is in over her head, and it becomes clear that neither woman is who she appears to be.

"Strangers on a Train is one of my favorite stories," says Epic Artistic Director Kevin Broccoli. "I love every incarnation of it-the book, the film, and the play version. That being said, I was wondering if it could still hold up today now that we're in the era of social media, where nobody can really stay a stranger for long. That challenge-combined with the urge to create two truly memorable roles for two actresses-helped create what I hope is an exciting and very entertaining piece of theater."

Broccoli directs a cast that includes Joan Batting, Kerstyn Desjardin, Kate Lester, Hannah Lum, Kelly McCabe, Michael Petrarca, and Justin Pimentel
