The Brown/Trinity Rep MFA Program proudly presents Shakespeare's Pericles, opening February 26, 2015. Pericles, an epic tale of adventure, love, revenge and truth, is directed by Dan Rogers ('15) and will run from February 26 - March 7 at the Pell Chafee Performance Center, 87 Empire Street, Providence, RI. General admission is $12 with a discounted price of $6 for students and seniors. Tickets are on sale now at Trinity Rep's box office, by phone (401) 351-4242, or online at trinityrep.com. Audiences should note this production contains mature subject matter and adult language.

It's a checkmate for Prince Pericles. In a competition of wits for the princess' hand, he discovers that the truth will get you killed and lying means certain death. Outsmarting everyone, Pericles flees Tyre and embarks on a journey filled with shipwreck, famine, pirates and love in one of Shakespeare's most fantastical tales.

"The story of Pericles is like a Shakespearean Odyssesy, full of twists and turns," says director Dan Rogers. "The play is epic in scale: there are six different countries, two sea storms, a jousting contest, a roving band of pirates and a fourteen-year transition. We rely on the imagination in the theater-we can't digitally insert a tidal wave, or cut to some beautiful Mediterranean location with hundreds of extras. Doing a play with so many spectacular moments forces us to get creative and find new ways to bring the language to life."

Pericles features Brown/Trinity Rep MFA Class of 2015 Actors: Devon Caraway, Uche Elueze, Britt Faulkner, Billy Finn, Shelley Fort, Elise Hudson, Ralph Adriel Johnson, Michael Jennings Mahoney, Ian McNeely, Sophie Netanel, Andrew Polec, Marina Shay, Whitney White and Max Wolkowitz

Dan Rogers is co-founder of the Brooklyn-based theater collective AntiMatter, and former general manager of the Obie Award-winning Vampire Cowboys Theater Company. New York productions include premiers of sixsixsix by Gregory S. Moss, a black mass staged in a 20,000 sq. ft. warehouse in Brooklyn and Prague; the zombie western Death Valley by Adam Scott Mazer at the Bushwick Starr; and The Sound by Sam Alper. Dan played trombone and helicon for the Lake Lucille Chekhov Project, and frequently performs with Providence's own Extraordinary Rendition Band. danrogersdirects.com
