Garrison Keillor's A Prairie Home Companion will bring its America the Beautiful Tour to the Providence Performing Arts Center (PPAC) on Friday, August 7, 2015 at 8P.

Tickets go on sale on Friday, April 10, 2015 at 10A at the PPAC Box Office (220 Weybosset Street in downtown Providence), online at www.ppacri.org and by phone at (401) 421-ARTS (2787). Tickets are $75 - $35; all ticket prices include a $3 per ticket restoration charge and are subject to change without notice. Box Office Hours are Monday through Friday, 10A to 5P; Saturday, 10A to 2P; and through curtain time(s) on performance days. A Prairie Home Companion's America the Beautiful Tour hits the road coast-to-coast this summer, delivering an evening of jump jazz, sweet harmony, poetry declamation, Guy Noir, words from the Rhubarb and Catchup and Fearmonger sponsors, stories, a mass audience chorale, and other classics from 41 years of radio.

On July 6, 1974, Garrison Keillor hosted the first broadcast of A Prairie Home Companion (APHC) at Macalester College's Janet Wallace Auditorium in St. Paul, Minnesota, with approximately twelve people in attendance. Keillor and the APHC team went on produce 500 live shows in the first decade of the program's existence.

A Prairie Home Companion celebrated its 40th Anniversary in 2014 and is currently heard by 4 million listeners each week on more than 600 public radio stations, and abroad on America One and the Armed Forces Networks in Europe and the Far East.
