The annual Youth Series of plays at Raleigh Little Theatre begins with a musical based on Arnold Lobel's acclaimed series of books, "A Year with Frog and Toad." The Triangle premiere of this play is directed by Sue Scarborough and kicks off a series that continues in the spring with "Miss Nelson is Missing" and "Charlotte's Web."

"The concept for our production is for the audience to feel included in the story. The set design will let the audience feel like they are under the leaves and reeds with Frog and Toad. The action will be in and around the audience which will be in the round," says Scarborough.

Though based on a series of children's books, "A Year with Frog and Toad" played on Broadway in 2003, following an acclaimed run Off-Broadway at the New Victory Theater.

"A Year with Frog and Toad" runs November 6 -22 in the Gaddy-Goodwin Teaching Theatre. Tickets for all events at RLT can be purchased by calling the box office (919)-821-3111, Monday through Friday, noon to 5:00 p.m., or by visiting the theatre's website at www.raleighlittletheatre.org.
