Piedmont Players Theatre along with Salisbury Pharmacy present It Runs in the Family- A Farce By Ray Cooney.

Get ready for a night full of laughter! This December, Piedmont Players is bringing the side-splitting comedy It Runs in the Family, to town! This will not be the first time a Ray Cooney play has been performed by Piedmont Players; Salisbury audiences are familiar with Cooney’s work being that this will be the seventh Ray Cooney play that has been produced here. PPT has performed Run For Your Wife (1990), Out of Order (1993), See How They Run (1994), Two Into One (1994), Not Now Darling (2001), and Caught in the Net (2004). Audiences have loved these farces and we anticipate that you will love this one as well!

If you are a leading surgeon in London’s most prestigious hospital and you are delivering the “Lecture of the Year” to two hundred of the world’s leading physicians, the last thing you want is a distraught mistress from 18 years ago turning up. Well Dr. Mortimer can cope with that, but when the erstwhile mistress says that the result of their past union was a baby boy, he is more than gobsmacked. And when the ex-mistress then tells him that the baby boy, now a strapping eighteen-year old, is waiting outside to be introduced, there is only one course of action – send for faithful friend, Dr. Bonney. Typical Cooney complications ensue involving a police sergeant, Dr. Mortimor’s wife, a severe hospital matron and Dr. Bonney’s mother.
