Burning Coal Theatre Company presents actor/director Dana Marks for a physical, two-day intensive exploring Viewpoints Basics and how we can use them to create new work or as a way to inflate our attention on stage and in life. Saturday, July 28 from 11 am to 3 pm and Sunday, July 29th from 1 to 5 pm at the Murphey School, 224 Polk Street, Raleigh, NC. Class limited to 20, student must be 16 years old or older. Fee is $55. Call 919-834-4001 to register.

ABOUT THE WORKSHOP. Find a greater sense of physical ease and discover how easy it can be to create your own work or find something new in the old! Participants will be working with Siti Company co-founder and Artistic Director Anne Bogart's Nine Viewpoints: nine elements of time and space that we all engage in every second of our lives. Through group physical improvisations we will look at each Viewpoint under a lens, discover how we can use each one to build deeper meaning in performance, putting them all together again to create short, theatrical compositions. Students should bring: clothing you can move and sweat in (no jeans or skirts please!), water, a snack, a notebook or journal to write in.
