Oregon Children's Theatre (OCT) recently received a four-year funding commitment of $300,000 from the James F. and Marion L. Miller Foundation. The Miller Foundation's new Operating Support Initiative provides unrestricted grants to a cohort of 39 arts organizations throughout the state of Oregon. OCT and other awardees were selected based on criteria that included leadership, organization business model, and the alignment of these two vital factors with their near-term planning objectives.

"This grant will help OCT carry out its mission of creating exceptional theater experiences that transform lives," said Managing Director Ross McKeen. "We appreciate the Foundation's understanding that operating support funding over a sustained period allows arts organizations to focus on the important work we're doing."

Over the next decade, OCT's vision is to deepen its commitment to education and social change, driven by the belief that theater can educate, empower, inspire, and entertain in remarkable ways. According to Artistic Director Stan Foote, "At the core of our vision is the goal of removing obstacles that block or limit access to the arts for too many children and families. Having support from the Miller Foundation goes a long way to making that happen." OCT is pleased to receive this award along with other incredible arts organizations, such as Broadway Rose Theatre, Portland Youth Philharmonic, and The Portland Ballet.
