Willamette Shakespeare will hold auditions for its outdoor, summer 2010 production of A Midsummer Night's Dream. Auditions will take place January 30 and 31.

35 NW 20th Place, Portland (north of Burnside, across from Fred Meyer's) [map]
When (by appointment):
Sat January 30th 10 AM - 5 PM
Sun January 31st 10 AM - 5 PM
You will have up to three minutes: you will be required to prepare one or two classical theatre pieces, at least one of which is in verse.

Callbacks will be Saturday and Sunday, February 6th and 7th 10 AM - 5 PM. Callbacks will consist of reading from the script. Sides will be sent out prior to the callback. Most people, whether cast or not, will not have to attend both days of callbacks.

Casting

There will be a total of 13 actors. Robin, Helena, Quince and Egeus have already been cast. All other roles are available. This will leave 3 roles for women, 4 roles for men and 3 that could be played by either a man or a women.

Performance Dates & Locations

Three week run.

Friday 7 PM, Saturday 7PM & Sunday 6PM.
August 6th - 8th
August 13th - 15th
August 20th - 22nd
One weekend will be in Portland and two in Yamhill County wine country between McMinnville and Newberg.

Rehearsal Dates & Locations

Rehearsals will be start the fourth week of June. They will generally be on Sunday - Thursday evenings. We may pick up a few Saturday and Sundays afternoons, if necessary. Most rehearsals will be in Portland with a few outdoors down in Yamhill County. There will be pick-up rehearsals on Thursday 8/12 and 8/19 which will be at the performance spaces in Yamhill County.

Details

Actor stipend is $500. We are non-union, but if you are an Equity actor and are interested in participating, please contact us and we will see if we can make an arrangement with the union.
