Pittsburgh CLO announced today that Tony Award-winner and Pittsburgh native Billy Porter will star as 'Lola' for ONE WEEK ONLY when the National Touring production of the 2013 Tony Award-winning Best Musical KINKY BOOTS plays Pittsburgh CLO August 4-9, 2015 at the Benedum Center. Tickets are on sale exclusively to subscribers of Pittsburgh CLO's 2015 Summer Season.

"Billy Porter started his career at Pittsburgh CLO and to have him return to us in a role he originated and won a Tony for is a most fulfilling, full-circle moment," said Executive Producer Van Kaplan.

Kyle Taylor Parker, currently earning raves as 'Lola' in the National Tour, will step into the role on Broadway at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre when Porter paints Pittsburgh red next August.

KINKY BOOTS took home six 2013 Tony Awards, the most of any show in the season, including Best Musical, Best Score, Best Choreography, Best Orchestrations, Best Sound Design and the Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical for Pittsburgh CLO alumnus Billy Porter. The show received the Drama League, Outer Critics Circle and Broadway.com Awards for Best Musical and the Grammy Award for Best Musical Album, among accolades.

In KINKY BOOTS, Charlie Price has reluctantly inherited his father's shoe factory, which is on the verge of bankruptcy. Trying to live up to his father's legacy and save his family business, Charlie finds inspiration in the form of Lola. A fabulous entertainer in need of some sturdy stilettos, Lola turns out to be the one person who can help Charlie become the man he's meant to be. As they work to turn the factory around, this unlikely pair finds that they have more in common than they ever dreamed possible... and discovers that when you change your mind about someone, you can change your whole world. KINKY BOOTS features a Tony Award-winning score by pop icon Cyndi Lauper, a book by Tony Award-winner Harvey Fierstein, and direction and choreography by Tony Award-winner Jerry Mitchell.
