Playhouse Jr., Point Park University's family and children's theatre company and the nation's second oldest continuously running children's theatre company, will celebrate the 2014-2015 season with three entertaining productions that can be enjoyed by all ages.

The season will feature a musical version of Shakespeare's fantastical fairy tale, A Midsummer Night's Dream, a reimagining of Rudyard Kipling's Mowgli stories, Jungalbook, and an enchanting contemporary play about the daughter of migrant workers, Luna.

Playhouse Jr. will offer performances for school and community groups on weekday mornings, May 6 - June 5, 2015, and public performances on weekends May 9 - June 7, 2015.

Playhouse Jr. field trip tickets are now on sale and cost $6. Subscriptions and single tickets are on sale now. Subscription packages are $15, single tickets $7 each. Those who purchase three subscriptions get the fourth free. Rockwell Theatre

Meet Oberon, Titania, Hippolyta, Puck, Peter Quince, Nick Bottom and others in this much-beloved Shakespearean comedy of young Athenian lovers and a group of amateur actors who are manipulated by fairies in the forest. This classic tale has been adapted for young audiences.

Jungalbook

Studio Theatre

An evocative tale of loyalty, betrayal and courage, Edward Mast's first play for young audiences brings to life characters made famous by Kipling's stories of Mowgli by intertwining the exotic jungle with life on the street. Jungalbook won a Distinguished Play Award from the American Alliance for Theatre and Education in 1991.

Luna

Rauh Theatre

Written by Seattle-based playwright, teacher and advocate of young adult theatre Ramon Esquivel, Luna tells the enchanting story of the daughter of migrant workers who forms a magical relationship with the moon, emboldening her to make new friends.

Esquivel's first play, Dulce, won the 2007 Bonderman Playwriting for Youth National Competition and Symposium at the Indiana Repertory Theatre. Luna is the winner of the New Plays for Youth Commissioning Project at Central Washington University.
