Described by The New York Times as "theatrical enchantment," Pittsburgh Public Theater presents Lanford Wilson's Pulitzer Prize-winning play, Talley's Folly. Directed by Pamela Berlin (A Moon for the Misbegotten and Tea at The Public), this romantic comedy stars Julie Fitzpatrick as Sally Talley and Andrew Polk (The Odd Couple at The Public) as Matt Friedman. Talley's Folly is underwritten by RTI International Metals, Inc.

Talley's Folly runs November 11 - December 12, 2010 at the O'Reilly Theater, Pittsburgh Public Theater's home in the heart of Downtown's Cultural District. For tickets call 412.316.1600 or visit www.ppt.org. The Public is led by Producing Artistic Director Ted Pappas.

Acclaimed as a master of lyric realism, playwright Lanford Wilson is celebrated for his colorful portraits of misfits, black sheep, and dreamers. Both Sally and Matt, who live in Missouri in 1944, fit this description. He's a 42 year old German-Jewish accountant. She's the rebellious unmarried daughter of a wealthy conservative family. Surrounding them, the biggest topic of the day is World War II and its economic effects. Sally and Matt, however, have other things on their minds when they meet at the Talley family's Victorian folly built along the river. Set on July 4th, the evening's conversation may determine whether their relationship will suddenly spark or finally fizzle.

The design team for Talley's Folly is: Michael Schweikardt (Scenic), Candice Donnelly (Costumes), Chris Dallos (Lighting), and Zach Moore (Sound). Fred Noel is the Production Stage Manager and Alicia DeMara is the Assistant Stage Manager.
