In addition to a free film screening, participants will be entered into a drawing for Pittsburgh CLO prizes.

About the Films

A Chorus Line

A group of dancers congregate on the stage of a Broadway theater to audition for a new musical production directed by Zach (Michael Douglas).  After the initial eliminations, sixteen hopefuls remain.  As the film unfolds, the back story of each of the dancers is revealed.  Although they all differ, they have one thing in common-a passion for dance.

Annie

During the Great Depression in New York City, a spirited red-haired orphan named Annie (Aileen Quinn) is the voice of hope for her fellow orphans who live under the supervision of the tyrannical Miss Hannigan (Carol Burnett).  The orphanage is visited by Grace, the personal secretary to billionaire Oliver Warbucks.  In an attempt to improve Warbucks' image, Grace brings Annie to his estate for a week-long stay where she quickly wins the hearts of servants and politicians alike as she continues the search for her family.

Fiddler on the Roof

Tevye (Topol) is a poor milkman in czarist Russia, where he provides for five unmarried daughters and a sharp-tongued wife.  Faced with mounting financial strain and growing anti-Semitism, Tevye strives – like a fidder on the roof – to maintain balance despite the precarious nature of his situation. Directed by Norman Jewison, conducted by John Williams and choreographed by Jerome Robbins, this musical masterpiece earned eight Academy Award Nominations and won three Oscars.

Sunset Boulevard

The film, directed by Billy Wilder, focuses on Norma Desmond, a 1950s silent-screen goddess.  Norma allows her delusions of grandeur to turn her into a demented recluse.  All she has left is a crumbling mansion on Sunset Boulevard and her butler, Max, who was once her director and husband.  Norma dreams of a big screen comeback and begins a relationship with Joe Gillis, a small-time writer who becomes her lover. Their love takes a quick turn to total madness and life-shattering tragedy.
