If you love Fried Green Tomatoes or Steel Magnolias, don't miss this hilarious and poignant play that tells the story of five longtime friends who set aside a weekend every August to renew their relationships. Free from husbands, kids and jobs, they meet at the same beach cottage on North Carolina's Outer Banks to catch up, laugh and meddle in each other's lives. The Dixie Swim Club focuses on four of those weekends and spans a period of thirty-three years. Directed by Bob Sorenson and starring Debra Rich*, Susan Sindelar, Shari Watts, Cathy Dresbach* and Janine Smith (*Equity Actor) this play is sure to touch both your funny bone and your heart. The Dixie Swim Club performs in the McMillin Theater on January 20th - February 19th.  Tickets are on sale now!

As their lives unfold and the years pass, these women increasingly rely on one another, through advice and raucous repartee, to get through the challenges (men, sex, marriage, parenting, divorce, aging) that life flings at them. And when fate throws a wrench into one of their lives, these friends, proving the enduring power of 'teamwork', rally 'round their own with the strength and love that takes this comedy in a poignant and surprising direction. The Dixie Swim Club is the story of these five unforgettable women - a hilarious and touching comedy about friendships that last forever.

Susan Sindelar who plays the role of Sheree said, "Being part of this terrific and hilarious Dixie Swim Club cast at Theater Works, is definitely one of the highlights of all my years performing here in our Valley...such a wonderful women's piece for, as Bob puts it, " women of a certain age"!"

Janine Smith a southern girl at her roots plays Lexie. "I enjoy acting in this play because of the extraordinarily talented and generous actresses I get to work with and because of our wonderful, insightful director, Bob Sorenson," said Janine.
