Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts will celebrate the spirit of the season with special holiday concerts by the all-female vocal ensemble Anonymous 4 on Dec. 9, the Grammy Award-winning Blind Boys of Alabama on Dec. 10 and the swing band Big Bad Voodoo Daddy on Dec. 21. Returning by popular demand, Patti Hannon will star in Sister’s Christmas Catechism: The Mystery of the Magi’s Gold for a limited engagement on Dec. 13–23, and The Center’s annual Jewelry Trunk Show will sparkle with brilliant gift possibilities on Dec. 9–10.

Anonymous 4: Anthology 25

Renowned for their unearthly vocal blend and virtuosic ensemble singing, the four women of Anonymous 4 celebrate their 25thanniversary with this special concert featuring ancient, traditional and modern chants and hymns, ranging from the 11th century to the present. Highlights include their very first recorded song, Gaude Virgo Salutata from An English LadymassFulget Nicolausfrom their first public performance, Legends of St. Nicholas; and a new work for Anonymous 4 by Pulitzer Prize-winning composer David Lang.

Go Tell It on the Mountain: The Blind Boys of Alabama Christmas Show

Returning by popular demand, Sister’s Christmas Catechism stars Patti Hannon as Sister, the tart-tongued, ruler-wielding Catholic nun. In an unusually jolly mood, Sister teaches her students the story of the Nativity and asks for their help to solve the greatest Christmas caper ever – who swiped the gold that those three wise men gave to the Baby Jesus? Each performance is unique and will appeal to people of all ages and faiths.

Big Bad Voodoo Daddy’s Wild and Swingin’ Holiday Party

One of the most popular swing bands on the road today, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy cruises into town with its jumpin’ and jivin’ Christmas extravaganza featuring one-of-a-kind originals and reworked Yuletide classics. After the concert, enjoy an open dance with the swing dancers of the Savoy Hop Cats in the Dayton Fowler Grafman Atrium.

Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts is located at 7380 E. Second St. in downtown Scottsdale, four blocks south of Indian School Road and three blocks east of Scottsdale Road. Free parking is available in the public parking garage located to the west of Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts on Wells Fargo Avenue. Additional free parking is available at the Old Town Parking Corral at East Second Street and Brown Avenue and at the Civic Center Library parking garage located on Drinkwater Boulevard at East Second Street.

ACCESSIBILITY
Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts offers performance accommodations to enhance audience members’ experience, including: American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation or live audio description with two weeks advance notice. Assistive-listening devices and wheelchair seating are always available. GROUP DISCOUNTS
Attend with family and friends, or bring a group from your business, civic or religious organization. Save $4 per ticket and at least $27.50 in handling fees when purchasing 15 or more tickets to the same event (subject to availability; some restrictions apply). Instead of $2.50 per single ticket, the facility fee is only $10 total for group orders.

THE STORE
The Store @ Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts offers a unique selection of art-related merchandise, including handmade jewelry, imaginative toys, decorative objects from around the world, original furnishings for the home and office and music, books and greeting cards. Members receive a 10-percent discount, and gift-wrapping and shipping also are available. Purchases are tax-free and support the programs of Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts.
