The Brelby Theatre Company located in Historic Downtown Glendale, is pleased to be producing the world premiere of Postcards from the Apocalypse by Paco Jose Madden. In the eclectic production, a young man, Marco, waits for his girlfriend, Jenny, atop a mountain. As the world collapses around him, he receives postcards and other messages from Jenny who reports back on what she's seen and heard from the End of the World.

Postcards from the Apocalypse, is the second installment of the 2016 Studio Series, dedicated to producing local playwrights and focusing on the story and character. "When I was living in Washington, DC, I participated in the Capital Fringe Festival as a producer and playwright. One year there was a plethora of apocalyptic stories. I thought, how can I write something different than the typical end of the world scenario?" said Madden. "I came up with the idea of writing an apocalypse of acpocalypses. Seven different apocalypses appear in Postcards. I also wanted the play to have a happy or hopeful ending. Even though the world may end someday, that ending might bring about something new or a renewal of our humanity."

"I hope audiences take away not only an appreciation for wonderful show itself, but for its themes," adds director, Mat Vansen. "We never know when the end of the world may come, but holding on to hope and those we care for will makes it less scary to think about."

Postcards from the Apocalypse features performances by Alexxis Briviesca as Jenny (The Tempest, Fangirl) and Brendan Gilhooly as Marco (Brelby stage debut), as well as a team of players including David Magadan (Beyond Musketeers: Utopia Lost, Windfall), Alexandra Utpadel (Little Women: the musical, The Tempest), Jaren Navenma (Little Women: the musical, Angel's Alley), Jessie Tully (The 1st, 2nd & 3rd Annual Miscast Concerts) and Heather Gahagan (The 3rd Annual Miscast Concert).
