Anthony Crivello Joins Kelli James for LEGENDS & LES MISERABLES at Theater Works

Guests will get the chance to meet and greet with the stars while enjoying drinks and appetizers. The evening concludes with a performance of the YouthWorks production Les Miserables, directed by Kelli James, music directed by James May and choreographed by Paul Pedersen.

Anthony Crivello received Broadway's Tony Award for Kiss of the Spiderwoman (Toronto, London). He was a member of the original Broadway cast of Les Miserables and has most recently been seen in Heathers: The Musical. Toronto, Anthony has also received Chicago's Jefferson Award, a Carbonelle Award and nominations for three Jefferson Awards, two Canadian Dora Mavor Moore Awards, LA's Ovation, Drama Critics, Robbie, Garland Awards, and Friends of New York Theater Award. Miss Kelli James Chase has enjoyed a professional musical theatre career that started at the age of 16 as Columbia in the San Francisco production of The Rocky Horror Show. At 18 she would start a long relationship with Hal Prince, Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice when she was asked to be a part of the Los Angeles company of Evita where she would play Peron's Mistress for 2 years at The Shubert Theatre. In 1986 she would be honored to join the original New York company of one of the greatest epic musicals to date, Les Miserables. Kelli would join that cast as the understudy and first American actress to play Eponine in the Broadway company. She spent a glorious 2 years in that production. Kelli continued to work in ALW shows including Aspects of Love as Guillietta Trapani and the Narrator in Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat opposite Donny Osmond. Miss James Chase concert life began in 1999 in London with The Night Of 1000 Voices. She has performed with Sarah Brightman, Donny Osmond, Gary Morris, Faith Hill, Sir James Gallway, Glenn Close, Sir Tim Rice, Sam Harris, Alfie Boe, Jason Robert Brown and Colm Wilkinson. She now lives and teaches at her own studio in Scottsdale, Arizona called The Broadway Advantage Performing Arts Studio. Phoenix audiences have seen her as Mrs. Potts in Beauty And The Beast and as the Fairy Godmother in Cinderella. She has co-directed productions of Annie, Suessical, Into The Woods, You're A Good Man Charlie Brown and has co-written 2 musicals with her writing partner David PatRick Taylor. She is thrilled to have recently performed in her first Theater Works production and her first Sondheim production Follies where she won critical acclaim as Carlotta. She celebrates the 30th year Anniversary of LES MISERABLES this year.
James May recently returned from two years in Spain as music director for THE LION KING (EL REY LEON). On Broadway, as conductor and/or associate music director, Jim conducted TEDDY AND ALICE, LES MISERABLES, SUNSET BOULEVARD. National Tours: A CHORUS LINE LA CAGE AUX, FOLLES. KISS ME KATE, MAN OF LA MANCHA, BEAUTY AND THE BEAST; Los Angeles companies: LES MISERABLES, THE LION KING, WHITE CHRISTMAS, WICKED; in Spain and Mexico: LA BELLA Y LA BESTIA (BEAUTY AND THE BEAST), MAMMA MIA; LES MISERABLES at The Hollywood Bowl; Many regional theaters, including St Louis MUNY Opera, The Goodman Theater in Chicago, The 5th Avenue Theater in Seattle, and Sacramento Music Circus. James has also been a music director for Arizona Broadway Theater. He received his Bachelors and Masters of Music degrees from Northwestern University.
Epic, grand and uplifting, LES MISERABLES School Edition packs an emotional wallop that has thrilled audiences all over the world. Set in early 19th-century France, it is the story of Jean Valjean, a French peasant, and his quest for redemption after serving nineteen years in jail for having stolen a loaf of bread for his sister's starving child. Valjean decides to break his parole and start his life anew after a kindly bishop inspires him by a tremendous act of mercy, but he is relentlessly tracked down by a police inspector named Javert. Along the way, Valjean and a slew of characters are swept into a revolutionary period in France, where a group of young idealists make their last stand at a street barricade.

Theater Works at the Peoria Center for the Performing Arts is entering its 31st season of providing exceptional theater to the West Valley.
