Valentine's weekend just took on new meaning with The Skivvies making their Philadelphia debut in SEI Innovation Studio as part of Kimmel Center Presents program offerings, Thursday, February 12, Friday February 13 and Saturday, February 14 at 8 p.m. The Skivvies features the mastermind talents of two Broadway performers-Lauren Molina and Nick Cearly-who, as a "musically thrilling" undie-rock, comedy-pop duo, don't just strip down their musical arrangements, they literally strip down to their underwear to perform.

Award-winning singer-actors Lauren Molina (Marry Me a Little, Rock of Ages, Sweeney Todd) and Nick Cearley (Pageant, All Shook Up) became YouTube sensations in 2012, with living room videos that displayed their powerful harmonies as well as their powerful abs. They provided eccentric accompaniment on cello and ukulele, with touches of glockenspiel, melodica, and a surprising array of under-used instruments. Those clips led to a music video directed by bestselling author Augusten Burroughs, sold-out shows that The Wall Street Journal called "smart, sophisticated...ingenious" and aNew York Times rave for the "hot musical comedy duo specializing in unexpected arrangements, incongruous mashups and, of course, highly toned displays of skin." Recently featured in Peoplemagazine's Most Talked About Bodies of 2014 issue, The Skivvies deliver a hilarious and cheeky evening of genre-hopping pop perfection.

The Skivvies are staples on the New York cabaret scene thanks to performances at venues such as 54 Below, the cabaret located in the basement of the theater that formerly housed the infamous Studio 54. Here, Molina and Cearley are often joined on stage by Broadways stars, including Rory O'Malley (The Book of Mormon) and Morgan James (Motown: The Musical, The Addams Family), who also strip down to their undies to the delight of audiences.

Beyond their residency at 54 Below, previous venues also include The Highline Ballroom, Roseland Ballroom, Joe's Pub, The Cutting Room, Rockwell Table & Stage in Los Angeles, Williamstown Theatre Festival, Pittsburgh's City Theatre, and The Bucks County Playhouse in New Hope, PA. Theatrically, Nick and Lauren were cast as Brad and Janet in The Rocky Horror Show at Bucks County Playhouse, directed by Hunter Foster. Click here to read review

The Skivvies have performed at events such as Broadway Bares (raising money for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS), A Tribute to Angela Lansbury with Tyne Daly and Christine Ebersole, Broadway for Obama, Human Rights Campaign benefit, Theatre C. They have made appearances on NBC, and filmed pilots for A&E and other major networks.
