The State Theatre Center for the Arts in Easton, PA has been approved as an Educational Improvement Organization (EIO) by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's Department of Community and Economic Development, making the FREDDY© Awards program eligible for the Educational Improvement Tax Credit Program (EITC).

Participating EITC businesses can receive significant tax credits when they contribute to approved EIO's. By making an investment in the FREDDY© program through the EITC program, businesses will earn tax credits of 75% or 90% while supporting the non-profit State Theatre in ongoing educational efforts to enhance the lives of thousands of high school students all over our region.

"We are thrilled that the State Theatre and our FREDDY© Awards program have been approved for EITC," comments Denise Smith, Vice President of Development for the State Theatre. "The FREDDY© program provides educational enrichment for thousands of high school students all over the region each year, and now our local businesses can use this innovative tax credit program to give their support. It's the perfect example of business, non-profit and legislative partners working together for the betterment of our community.

The EITC program is easy to use, and puts businesses in charge of how they direct some of their taxes, but credits are limited. Interested businesses should contact Denise Smith at 610-258-7766 ext. 223, or dsmith@statetheatre.org. To learn how to apply using the Single Application go to www.newpa.com/eitc
