Theatre Exile puts into question the plausibility of the American dream during its 2014-2015 season with two Philadelphia Premiere's and one modern classic. Philadelphia's "risk-taking specialists" will perform their first two shows at the company's home at Studio X (13th and Reed Sts.). The company's final show will be performed at Plays and Players Theatre, 1714 Delancey Place. More information about subscriptions and the season can be found at www.theatreexile.org.

Theatre Exile will launch the 2014-2015 season from Studio X, their South Philadelphia home, with the Philadelphia Premiere of Red Speedo by Steinberg Award winning playwright Lucas Hnath (October 30 - November 23, 2014, Opening Night November 5, 8:00 p.m.). The discovery of a cooler full of performance-enhancing drugs sends Olympic hopeful Ray and those who circle around him into murky waters in this spare, pool-side drama. This taut, darkly comic, new play explores the battle between building a family and the business of winning at any cost. Producing Artistic Director Deborah Block directs this sharp new play with Leonard C. Haas, Jaylene Clark Owens, Brian Ratcliffe, all new to the Exile stage, along with Exile veteran Keith Conallen (Theatre Exile's Gruesome Playground Injuries and Lieutenant of Inishmore).

Red Speedo will be followed by Samuel D. Hunter's award- winning play The Whale, a Philadelphia Premiere, directed by Associate Artistic Director Matt Pfeiffer in the intimate Studio X (February 5 - March 1, 2015, Opening Night, February 11, 8 p.m.). 600 pound Charlie hides away in his apartment eating himself to death. Desperately, he tries to reconnect with his daughter who he left behind years ago. Winner of multiple awards, The Whale is a story of a final shot at redemption and the beauty of the families we make for ourselves. Starring Exile favorite Scott Greer (Theatre Exile's North of the Boulevard and Shining City) with Kate Czajkowski, Campbell M. O'Hare, Amanda Grove and Trevor William Fayle.

Pearce Bunting and Catharine Slusar last seen in Theatre Exile's Barrymore Nominated, Annapurna will help close the season with Emilie Krause and Luigi Sotille in Edward Albee's modern classic Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? at Plays and Players Theater directed by Founding Artistic Director Joe Canuso (April 16 - May 17, 2015, Opening Night April 22, 8 p.m.). George and Martha invite Nick and Honey over for a night-cap that quickly spirals into an evening of wicked psychological games. Exile favorites take the stage in Edward Albee's classic that dares to look behind the facade of the American family.
