A free reading of a brand new play-in-progress with acclaimed playwright and actor Eisa Davis, which has been inspired by people and stories from within the Latino community in Kennett Square. The evening is set for tonight, August 5 from 6 to 8 p.m. at The Garage Youth Center, 115 S. Union Street, Kennett Square, PA 19348.

"This play centers on Latino life in and around Kennett Square. It is an examination of relationships between a wide variety of characters dreaming of their futures and trying to repair harms from their very recent past," Davis said.

This event will include refreshments and catering by Taste of Puebla and an open conversation about the work in progress. The reading is free and open to the public, but reservations are requested. To register, visit peopleslight.org/thegarage.

This sharing is presented by People's Light, a professional theatre located in Malvern, PA. People's Light is a professional, not-for-profit theatre in Chester County, Pennsylvania that makes plays drawn from many sources to entertain, inspire, and engage our community. We extend our mission of making and experiencing theatre through arts education programs that excite curiosity about, and deepen understanding of, the world around us. These plays and programs bring people together and provide opportunities for reflection, discovery, and celebration. Founded in 1974, we produce seven to nine plays each season, in two black box theatres with 340 and 160 seats respectively, mixing world premieres, contemporary plays, and fresh approaches to classic texts for our 7-Play, Discovery, and Teen Series.
