Old City District Debuts Historic Holiday Nights Every Thursday in December at 45 Restaurants and Retailers

Celebrate the season along America's most historic square mile with Historic Holiday Nights in Old City, presented by VISIT PHILADELPHIA® and Old City District.

Get all of your holiday shopping done in one place, and enjoy some seasonal dishes and sips in Old City! More than 45 participating boutiques, shops, art galleries, museums, restaurants and cafes around the neighborhood will treat visitors to special sales, discounts, promotions and menu items every Thursday in December from 5:00pm to 8:00pm through December 22nd.

"With more than 45 locations participating, Historic Holiday Nights in Old City celebrates all that makes America's most historic square mile unique. There is something for everyone in Old City," said Job Itzkowitz, Old City District Executive Director.

From its historic past to its artful present to its tech future, Old City is the place to be! Look for vibrant and diverse offerings that make the neighborhood the historic gem of Philadelphia.

LAUNCH CELEBRATION

Festivities kick off this Thursday, December 1st with carolers, historic re-enactors and a live ice sculpture. The kickoff celebration will take place at the Betsy Ross House courtyard (239 Arch Street) and will feature Betsy Ross, carolers, and a live ice sculpture performance by Studio Ice. Visitors can take photos with Old City Photo Booth and enjoy $1 off admission at the Betsy Ross House, which will offer extended hours until 8:00pm. Elfreth's Alley, America's oldest residential neighborhood, will also offer extended visiting hours as well as a presentation at 6:00 pm by Edward Mauger entitled: "Christmas in Colonial Philadelphia" (124 Elfreth's Alley).


SHOPPING

Around every corner of Old City, find one-of-a-kind gifts and handmade goods for your family and friends. More than 25 shops, boutiques, museums and art galleries will offer extended shopping hours and special sales, discounts and promotions from 5:00pm to 8:00pm on Thursdays through December 22nd.

Customers will receive a $3 off skating admission coupon to Blue Cross RiverRink Winterfest, Philly's largest outdoor ice skating rink and winter wonderland (at participating shops and boutiques with any purchase). Coupons can be redeemed throughout the season until March 5, 2017. Blue Cross RiverRink Winterfest includes the regulation-size rink, a beautifully lit landscape featuring a majestic holiday tree, outdoor seating area with fire pits, cozy warming cabins, the Franklin Fountain Confectionary Cabin, the Kids Lodge with arcade games, and the chalet-inspired Lodge with food and beverages from Garces and Chickie's and Pete's.
