Monty Python's "Spamalot" musical is headed into a tree. No, not a tree--A theatre! The Media Theatre, actually. Yes, all of the creative minds at Delaware County's only professional music theatre are plotting and planning right now to bring you perhaps the funniest Broadway musical of all time. "Spamalot" is just what it sounds like--a conglomeration of a parody of "Camelot" (King Arthur's tale) and a live musical based on "Monty Python and the Holy Grail", the classic cinematic comic masterpiece.

The Media Theatre, Jesse Cline, Artistic Director, located at 104 East State St in Media is holding an AEA Performers Call (non-union performers will be seen as time permits) for SPAMALOT, Book and Lyrics by Eric Idle; Music by John Du Prez & Eric Idle .

Auditions will be held on Sunday, June 23, from 3pm-7pm at The Media Theatre.

Seeking the following roles for SPAMALOT : KING ARTHUR: late 30's-60s, baritone,King of England, great comic actor; SIR ROBIN:30-40, baritone called "the brave" but is cowardly doubles as Brother Maynard/Guard; SIR LANCELOT: 30-40s,baritone, fearless and needs good character voices, doubles as the French Taunter/Knight of NI/Tim the Enchanter; PATSY: 30-40, baritone,King Arthur's Horse and servant- funny, physical mover doubles as the Mayor/Guard; SIR GALAHAD: 30's,Bari-tenor,dashing, doubles as the Black Knight/Prince Herberts Father; SIR BELVEDERE: 20-40, inept scholar,doubles as Galahads shrill mother/Lancelot's horse.

Also seeking THE LADY OF THE LAKE: 20-30's sings many styles and registers,Diva, strong, beautiful; HISTORIAN/NOT DEAD FRED/FRENCH GUARD/PRINCE HERBERT: Tenor 30-40's plays these four roles; ENSEMBLE: 10-12 men/women to play guards, minstrels, nuns and monks.

All types, ages ethnicities are encouraged to attend. Please prepare music in the style of the show that shows vocal range. Music from the show is acceptable. Rehearsals begin September 3. The show opens September 25 and closes November 3, 2013.
