Closer Than Ever - the celebrated musical revue featuring the songs of Maltby & Shire - returns to Philadelphia in a fresh new production featuring four of the city's best performers. Called a "pocket-size classic of the American musical theater" by the New York Post, Closer Than Ever features twenty-four wise and witty songs about life after your twenties . . . when life gets interesting! Through charming melodies and smartly-crafted lyrics, Closer Than Ever intertwines insightful tales about love, security, happiness, and self-definition into an unforgettable evening of theater.

Closer Than Ever runs July 8-25, 2015, at Christ Church Neighborhood House, located at 20 North American Street (off 2nd Street between Market and Arch Streets) in the Old City section of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. All tickets are $25 and can be purchased online at www.mazeppa.org or by calling the box office at (267) 559-9602.

Artistic Director Rob Henry is thrilled to direct this wonderfully intimate musical to a new audience. Continuing its tradition of presenting theater in new and innovative ways, Mazeppa transforms the theater into an eclectic dream-like café where characters can feel comfortable bearing their souls. With choreography by Dawn Morningstar and musical direction by Zachary Wisely. The cast of Closer Than Ever is Deirdre Finnegan, Will Connell, Erica Scanlon Harr, and Paul McElwee.

The design team includes Adam Koch (scenic), Stephen Smith (costumes), Chris Haig (props), Alyssandra Docherty (lighting) and Andrew Nelson (sound).

Closer Than Ever is a Barrymore eligible production. The Barrymore Awards have served as Philadelphia's professional theatre awards program since 1994, recognizing artists for excellence and innovation while increasing awareness of the richness of our city's thriving theatre community. The Barrymore Awards are a nationally recognized symbol of excellence for professional theatre in our region, raising the bar for work produced by local theatres and individual artists while generating coverage in local and national media.
