Hedgerow Theatre continues its holiday tradition with its 20th annual production of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol, which runs from December 6 to 24. The adaptation by award-winning playwright Nagle Jackson is faithful to Dickens' classic tale of the redemption of Ebenezer Scrooge, a miserable, selfish miser whose heart is transformed after he is visited by a series of spirits on Christmas Eve. The Hedgerow production features a large multi-generational cast and carols.

To keep the show fresh, Producing Artistic Director Penelope Reed focuses on a special message each year. "For 2012, I've chosen the idea of the rich and poor coming together," Reed noted. "It's important for both sides to recognize the value of the other and to learn how to team up to make the world a better place."

Performances are scheduled on Thursdays and Friday at 7:30 p.m.; Saturdays at 4 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.; and Sundays at 2 p.m. There are also shows on Tuesday, December 18 at 7:30 p.m.; Wednesday, December 19 at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.; and Monday, December 24 at 4 p.m.

Adult ticket prices for Friday, Saturday and Sunday shows are $32, Thursday shows are $29, and Wednesday matinees are $25. There is a $3 discount for seniors; tickets for students with valid ID and children under 18 are $10. Previews are $20, and no other discounts apply. For groups of 10 or more, tickets are $18 for adults and $16 for seniors. Prices include all fees and are subject to change. For reservations, call 610-565-4211, or visit www.hedgerowtheatre.org.
