Eric Longo, of Wallingford, has a lot of clear skies coming his way this fall at The Media Theatre. That's when he will portray Mary Sunshine in the production of "Chicago" September 28-November 6. The musical is directed by Barrymore Award winner Jennie Eisenhower.

"I'm excited to be in a show that has one of the region's biggest stars in it," Longo said, referring to Doylestown's Justin Guarini. "Justin has been on Broadway in "American Idiot" and it will be a great experience to share the stage with this talented performer."

Longo has quite a career himself. He was seen in The Media Theatre's "The Who's Tommy" this past spring while music directing their production of "Snow White". He has a BFA from Carnegie Mellon where he performed in "A Little Night Music" and "A Chorus Line". Five years ago, he was in the top five of the local "Delco Idol" competition.

Longo is an accomplished pianist and musician as well. He is entering his second year as an instructor and accompanist for The Media Theatre's Voice Classes, which meet on Tuesday nights for ages 7 to 18. Between that and "Chicago" rehearsals and performances, he will music direct the children's show "Rapunzel: Here and Now", which plays Saturday mornings in October.

"It's good to stay busy doing what you love doing," Longo said. "There's no need to stay at home and wait for something to come your way when all you have to do is find "A Little Bit of Sunshine"!"

Tickets are now available for "Chicago" and "Rapunzel: Here and Now" by calling 610-891-0100 or visiting mediatheatre.org.
