2013-2014 New Broadway Philadelphia Season Announced

The Kimmel Center and The Shubert Organization today announced the brand new Broadway Philadelphia, featuring a spectacular lineup of Broadway's most popular touring stage musicals arriving for the 2013-14 season.

The newly-named Broadway Philadelphia is presented collaboratively by The Kimmel Center and The Shubert Organization with productions at the Academy of Music, Forrest Theatre and Merriam Theater.

From the creators of "South Park" and winner of nine Tony Awards, THE BOOK OF MORMON will play a limited 6-week engagement at the Forrest Theatre. The New York Times calls it "the best musical of this century" and Entertainment Weekly says it's "the funniest musical of all time."

Dates for Broadway Philadelphia will include: ONCE (Oct. 29 - Nov. 10, 2013); FLASHDANCE The Musical (Nov. 19 - 24, 2013); WE WILL ROCK YOU (Jan. 14 - 19, 2014); THE GERSHWINS' PORGY & BESS (Feb. 18 - 23, 2014); THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA (*March 19 - April 13, 2014); EVITA (June 18 - 22, 2014), all at the Academy of Music, and the long-awaited arrival of THE BOOK OF MORMON (*July 29 - Sept. 7, 2014) making its Philadelphia premiere at the Forrest Theatre. Additional 2013 - 2014 shows will include: NETworks presents Disney's BEAUTY AND THE BEAST (Nov. 26 - Dec. 1, 2013), at the Academy of Music; I LOVE LUCY LIVE ON STAGE (Dec. 26 - 29, 2013) at the Merriam Theater; the return of JERSEY BOYS (Dec. 11 - Jan. 5, 2014) at the Forrest Theatre; MAMMA MIA! (Feb. 25. March 2, 2014) at the Academy of Music; Cirque Éloize CIRKOPOLIS (March 11 - 16, 2014) at the Merriam Theater; Andrew Lloyd Webber's THE WIZARD OF OZ (Jun. 3 - 8, 2014); and RAIN: A Tribute to the Beatles (Jun. 13 - 15, 2014); both at the Academy of Music.
