Kaleidoscope, Western Australia's first festival of illumination, will light up the Joondalup City Centre from tomorrow 10 November to Sunday 13 November.

Transforming the fast-growing capital of the North West growth corridor into an extraordinary wonderland of illumination, Kaleidoscope will shine a light on some of Australia's most dynamic creatives and give them the opportunity to realise their most exciting ideas.

Commencing each evening at 5:30pm, the free event will see the Joondalup City Centre become an interactive living, breathing museum exploring the theme of the 'City of the Future', through an exciting multidisciplinary cultural program boasting 3D architectural transformations (live buildings), projection performance, virtual reality, augmented reality, workshops, and interactive and immersive curated spaces.

With something for all ages, spectators can expect a remarkable cultural experience. From DIY activities for the kids, to immersive DJ/projection performances for the adults, and food trucks for all. The free festival encourages people to come early at 5.30pm and enjoy the bountiful food and drink offerings, hang with family or friends and watch as the sun goes down and the lights come up.

Not-for-proft community arts and cultural development (CACD) organisation DADAA will also bring the visual to life through audio by providing free audio description tours for people who are blind or vision impaired on Saturday 12 November. Bookings need to be made through Jacqueline Homer at jacqueline@dadaa.org.au

DADAA is a not-for-profit community arts and cultural development (CACD) organisation, focusing on creating significant positive social change and opportunities for people with a disability or a mental illness. Based in Fremantle, DADAA offers targeted arts and cultural programs that include a broad range of traditional and new media projects in almost 50 Western Australian communities.

The City of Joondalup and the innovative bodies behind Perth's most extraordinary illuminative performance encourage patrons to immerse themselves in what is set to become one of the most exciting annual experiences on the city's cultural calendar, designed to promote public awareness and appreciation of Perth's emerging visual artists.

Kaleidoscope is part of the city's place-making strategy to bring significant events to the Joondalup City Centre to stimulate the local business economy and to provide entertainment and a vibrant nightlife for local residents and visitors.

Kaleidoscope will have the Joondalup City Centre enriched with a thrilling and inspiring visual performance from some of the most exciting and celebrated creative minds in Australia.
