The UK and Ireland tour of SHREK THE MUSICAL® premiered Wednesday 30 July at the Grand Theatre in Leeds then launches in Bristol, Nottingham, Belfast, Dublin, Oxford, Manchester, Aberdeen, Canterbury, Newcastle, Birmingham, Glasgow, Sheffield, Norwich, Southampton, Plymouth and Milton Keynes with further venues still to be announced. Chicago Shakespeare Theater (CST) presents Shrek The Musical, the Theater's annual summer family musical, directed and choreographed by Rachel Rockwell with music direction by Michael Mahler, July 13-September 1, 2013 in CST's Courtyard Theater. Based on the Academy Award-winning DreamWorks film and the book by William Steig, CST's 75-minute production of Shrek The Musical will take audiences on an unconventional fairy-tale adventure with everyone's favorite ogre. The production features two Jeff Award-winning actors: Michael Aaron Lindner as the lovable ogre Shrek and Summer Naomi Smart in her CST debut as the spunky Princess Fiona. In support of Mayor Emanuel's Summer of Learning Program, special activities will be offered in conjunction with Shrek The Musical for students to earn a "Bard Badge."

DreamWorks Theatricals and Neal Street Productions, Ltd. are presenting SHREK THE MUSICAL, with book and lyrics by David Lindsay-Abaire and music by Jeanine Tesori, at the San Diego Civic Theatre through Sunday, July 10, 2011. Performances began July 5.

An entirely new musical, SHREK THE MUSICAL is based on the story and characters from William Steig's book Shrek!, as well as the Dreamworks Animation film Shrek, the first chapter of the Shrek movie series. SHREK THE MUSICAL tells the story of a swamp-dwelling ogre who goes on a life-changing adventure to reclaim the deed to his land. Joined by a wise-cracking donkey, this unlikely hero fights a fearsome dragon, rescues a feisty princess and learns that real friendship and true love aren't only found in fairy tales. Straight from the swap (Ok, the Haymarket Hotel in London), BroadwayWorld.com is excited to share photos of the principle cast members for the upcoming West End production of SHREK THE MUSICAL. The show will open at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane in May 2011. Tickets went on sale to the general public on October 1, 2010. SHREK THE MUSICAL announced the winners in the 'Not Your Ordinary Princess' competition, hosted by Nick.com. Laura Laureano (age 14) from Ronkonkoma, NY won the opportunity to play 'Teen Fiona' and Hannah Beatt (age 9) from Sarasota, FL won the opportunity to play 'Young Fiona' on Saturday, September 19th at 8 p.m. alongside Tony Award-winner Sutton Foster in a performance of the award-winning SHREK THE MUSICAL.

This morning, Tuesday, August 11th, the cast of SHREK THE MUSICAL performed live on NBC's 'The Today Show.' Sutton Foster and cast members performed 'Morning Person' in the 8:30-9:00 a.m. half hour. You can watch the segment right here on STAGE TUBE!

On Tuesday, June 2nd, The Cast of the Tony-nominated Best Musical SHREK THE MUSICAL performed live on CBS 'The Early Show.' Daniel Breaker with Jennifer Cody, Sarah Jane Everman and Lisa Ho sang 'Make a Move' in the 8:30-9:00 a.m. half hour. Tony-nominee Brian d'Arcy James also appeared on the show. 'The Early Show' airs nationally on CBS (channel 2, WCBS in the tri-state area).
